--The Colts recently announced they were cutting 25 jobs in the front office due to the slowing economy. Among those let go was long time athletic trainer Hunter Smith. He had been with the franchise since 1983.


--The state of the economy is also affecting where the franchise will conduct training camp this summer. Indianapolis has conducted it preseason workouts at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology since 1999 and before that at Anderson University from 1984 to 1998. The team may go back to Anderson this year, but no decision has been made as of yet.

"Like everyone else in the country, expenses are an issue for us," team president Bill Polian said. "So we're looking at everything we do, be it travel costs or training camp or whatever. One glaring area is training camp, so we have to make a decision about where to go, and we have not made it."

--Former Colts WR Troy Walters has officially retired from playing and has been named as an assistant football coach at Indiana State University. Walters will become the Sycamores' offensive coordinator. a fifth-round draft pick by Minnesota in 2000, he last played for Detroit in 2007 after also seeing work with the Arizona Cardinals.

--The Colts are raising season ticket prices in the upper deck of both end zones by $10 per game for next season. The seats affected represent about 10 percent of capacity. All are held by season ticket holders, who have been notified of the changes in their invoices.

Colts vice president of ticket operations/guest service Larry Hall said the $34 ticket is still among the least expensive in the league.

--Even though Indianapolis will be hosting the 2012 Super Bowl, city officials acknowledge that Lucas Oil Stadium isn't in the mix to host an accompanying Pro Bowl that year.

"We are proceeding as though (the Pro Bowl) is not on the horizon for us," said Allison Melangton, president and CEO of the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee.
