--Rookie P Pat McAfee has already become a favorite of the Indianapolis media. McAfee has been witty during interviews, talking about the unique punting style that he displayed at West Virginia as well as his brief foray into the world of professional wrestling several weeks before the draft. He was one of two seventh-round draft picks taken by the Colts.

--Indianapolis also added two more undrafted free agents -- former Boston College quarterback Chris Crane and ex-Duke middle linebacker Mike Tauiliili.
--The Colts waived outside linebacker Rufus Alexander and former North Dakota State punter Mike Dragosavich. Alexander signed with the Colts as a free agent in December after beginning his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Howard gave me his permission to talk about this because he doesn't want to and won't. He doesn't want to jeopardize what he already believes is a tenuous position. I know (team president) Bill Polian and (Colts owner) Jim Irsay are trying to work things out so he can continue coaching, but right now it doesn't look like it's going to happen." -- NFL Coaches Association executive director Larry Kennan on the possible retirement of offensive line coach Howard Mudd.
